Anja Lewis is a wine enthusiast who was introduced in to the world of wine and champagne in the Caribbean while working on private yachts. Upon her return to Perth in 2014, Anja decided to enter the wine industry expanding her wine knowledge, while working for wineries in the Swan Valley and travelling Australia’s wine regions. She currently holds the advanced certificate with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and is enrolled in the Wine Scholar Guild’s Champagne Master program. With her wine events, wine travels and continuous study’s, Anja is continuously building the foundation to her long term goal of becoming a Master of Wine. In 2016 Anja entered the biannual Vin de Champagne Awards, one of Australia’s most coveted wine accolades, held on behalf of the Comité de Champagne, becoming one of six finalists in the professional category. This incredible experience reignited her passion for champagne. Anja also holds a university degree in Mechanical Engineering with a major in Production Technologies. As a founder and company director of Biota in Harmony Anja expanded her entrepreneurship in 2020 following the call to serve her purpose offering holistic, integrative health solutions in her East Victoria Park Biota Healing Centre.

Anja started her own business Canny Grapes, seizing the opportunity to follow her passion and purpose as well as the quest to learn everything about wine. She travels on a regular basis to wine regions around the world and within Australia, meeting winemakers, viticulturists, wine families as well as other wine enthusiasts and professionals of the industry. Anja works as an independent wine and restaurant consultant applying a holistic approach based on her extensive experience within the hospitality industry and from her corporate background. Starting her fun & educational wine tasting classes in 2017, Canny Grapes offers regular wine tasting classes exploring the world of wine as well as corporate events and private functions. In October 2019 Anja celebrated her 100th wine tasting class with her loyal Canny Grapes wine friends.

When not creating and hosting her own events, Anja presents wine dinners for the wine magazine Gourmet Traveller Wine like the 2019 annual ‘Leading Ladies in Wine’ Dinner in Perth celebrating some of Australia’s top Women in Wine, the Reader Riesling Dinner in 2020 as well as their Pinot Noir and Grenache Wine Dinners at Heritage Wine Bar. Anja is also a contributor to Australia’s champagne magazine Vine & Bubble writing about champagne as well as hosting their Louis Roederer Champagne Launch Dinner in 2021 at Perth’s Rockpool Bar & Grill.
